About Chumbe Island
Chumbe Island features seven eco-friendly bungalows, each designed to harmonise with the island’s natural surroundings. Powered entirely by solar energy, the bungalows are thoughtfully constructed with rainwater catchment systems and composting toilets to minimise environmental impact. Each bungalow offers stunning views of the Indian Ocean, creating a serene and private setting for guests. The island’s conservation ethos extends to all aspects of operations, including waste management, renewable energy use, and sourcing sustainable, locally caught seafood. The Chumbe Team, largely composed of local community members, ensures a warm, welcoming experience while contributing to the island’s conservation and community-focused efforts.
