Instinct of the Mara

Olderkesi Mara Conservancy

The focus here is on experience over excessive luxury, with all guests receiving a private guide and vehicle, allowing you to explore the rolling hills of the Olderkesi Conservancy and Greater Mara at your own pace.

What We Love

Wildlife

The Olderkesi Conservancy is a wildlife haven that regularly sees the Great Migration pass through in July. The rest of the year sees strong resident populations of elephant, lion, giraffe, and hyena.

Impact

Powered by solar energy and heavily invested in the local community, all camp staff are Masai. The camp has worked extensively with landowners and community elders to ensure a fair financial benefit from tourism.

Experience

Game drives explore the conservancy and Masai Mara National Reserve in search of the Great Migration during July to September. Walking safaris, bush meals, and sundowners are all possible on the conservancy.

About Instinct of the Mara

Instinct of the Mara features 7 premium safari tents and 2 family suites, one of which comes with a pool. Meals are generally taken in the mess tent, outside on the grass, or on your veranda. The property looks out over a clearing where wildlife regularly visits to drink, ensuring game viewing from your private veranda. The camp prides itself on flexibility, and nothing is too much trouble here—you quickly feel part of the wider camp family. Make sure you save some time for an afternoon or evening sundowner up on the hill, a specialty here.
