Kichaka Zumbua
Lunda area, Ruaha National Park
Owner operated camp located in the depths of Ruaha, sat on a hill with views over the Great Ruaha River. Kichaka is known for its high-quality guiding and walking safaris, exploring an area of the national park where you won’t see another vehicle.

What We Love
Wildlife
Owner and head guide Moli specialises in walking safaris. All the guides here are among the best in East Africa and are experts in approaching large wildlife, such as elephants and buffalo, on foot.
Experience
A typical day at Kichaka Zumbua starts with a morning walking safari, returning to camp for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. Night drives are also possible in the area around camp.
Impact
The Kichaka guiding team regularly trains the national park rangers in safely walking with wildlife, ensuring they can effectively patrol wilder areas. The camp is also run on solar power.
About Kichaka Zumbua
Zumbua features 3 suites with plunge pools and star decks. The suites and the standard room are all spacious, with en-suite facilities. The main camp area includes an incredible ‘star bar,’ a dining area, a communal swimming pool, a lounge, and a fire pit. It’s a remarkable experience beloved by the Wild Paths team. The only challenge is deciding what to do—the suites are so inviting that you won’t want to leave, but we wouldn’t advise missing out on any activities either! Kichaka has a warm family feel, hosted by owners Moli and Noelle.
