Kipalo Hills

Mbulia Hills Conservancy

Perched on the side of a hill with views over Tsavo West and beyond to Kilimanjaro, Kipalo Hills has one of the most stunning locations of any safari camp in Kenya.

What We Love

Wildlife

The focus here is on elephant, stained red by the Tsavo earth and now conservancy residents. The property also enjoys strong leopard and wild dog sightings. Lion numbers are very good in nearby Tsavo East.

Experience

Game drives, walking safaris, and night drives are all possible. One of our most-loved activities is sitting with a drink and watching the leopard silently approach the waterhole just outside camp. Spend time with the rangers who protect wildlife here.

Impact

A shining example where communities truly benefit from wildlife tourism. Conservancy fees support numerous local projects, including water tanks, employment, food drives and school bursaries which support certain students through school.

About Kipalo Hills

Kipalo Hills has six safari tents and two larger suites. The safari tents are rustic, featuring hot water bucket-style showers with views over pristine wilderness. The two larger suites both have plunge pools and hot running water. It’s one of the only safari camps in Kenya where you can truly get involved in conservation in an ethical way. The property is in a private conservancy created to support elephant conservation. All guests receive a private vehicle and guide to explore Tsavo East and West National Parks and the Mbulia Hills Conservancy.
